A quick update from Tignes Val Claret on the European X Games Slopestyle course. Last night SPT made some changes to the course, making one jump sizably bigger and the takeoffs to many of the jumps a bit poppy-er thus allowing for more airtime and more trickery.
The wind held up the snowboard slopestyle practice this morning, so this afternoon saw skiers and snowboarders figuring out the course in harmony. The weather has currently milked over, in anticipation for a snowy Wednesday in Tignes Val Claret.
The course remains very firm and very long and very technical. The first slopestyle event will be on Thursday, with the men’s qualifiers. Tonight at 7 pm (CET, +6 from EST) will be the men’s Superpipe qualifiers. Check back later as Dumont, Bertoni, Rolland, Riddle, Dorey, Olenick, Wells (x2) and others vie for the eight spots in finals.
