New Rippers Help Spread the TREWth

HOOD RIVER, Ore. (August 12, 2009) – TREW is proud to announce its official team members, all of whom will help to spread the TREWth during the 2009/2010 snow season. On point with the TREW philosophy, the new team members are a well-rounded group of creative, influential and talented rippers who enjoy being on the mountain and doing what they love most, no matter how many sticks are attached to their feet. The TREW crew consists of skiers, teleskiers, snowboarders and a snowkiter.

The skiers of the team are Colter Hinchliffe, Mike McCabe, Pat Sewell, Mattias Sullivan, Cedric Tremblay-Fournier and Ryan Wybles. Hinchliffe resides in Alta, UT and has been featured in photographs published in two of the industry’s top magazines, Skiing and Powder. McCabe, whose other sponsors include Custom Folsom Skis, Dragon Optics and Surefoot, has had several top-ten finishes in the International Free Skiers Association (IFSA) competitions and hopes to add more to the list this upcoming season. Sewell, of Aspen, CO, had an opening segment in the 2009 16mm feature film “The Ripple Effect” by Futuristic Films and Aspen/Snowmass. Sullivan, 25, of Squaw Valley, CA, will spend the upcoming season working with UnofficialSquaw.com, filming, getting photos and competing in the 2010 IFSA Freeskiing World Tour Events. Tremblay-Fournier, aka “The Pirate,” skis for Moment Skis, Bula, and Joystick. The “jibtastic” Wybles is also sponsored by Bluehouse Skis and 4bi9 Media; he lives in Park City, UT.

“Free your heel and free your mind” seems to be the mantra of TREW’s teleskiers, who include Jeremy Rubingh and TREW’s “token girl” Shaun Raskin. Rubingh, 29, lives in Aspen, CO and films for his company SnowLion Productions. He describes telesking as “experiencing zero gravity in between each turn.” Raskin, who lives in Park City, UT, can be seen in Lipstick Films’ “Since We Last Spoke” and the soon to be released film “The Freeheel Life” by Josh Madsen. In 2009 she received 4th place and the “Sick Bird” award in 2009 World Freeskiing Telemark Championships, and in the 2009 U.S. Freeskiing Telemark Championship she received the “Sick Bird” award and 5th place.

TREW’s snowboarders are Finny England, 23, and Ryan Stephens, 25, both of whom are local to TREW’s stomping grounds, Hood River, OR. England hopes to spend the upcoming season shredding and traveling. Stephens counts filming with the Nimbus crew a highlight of his snowboarding career, and is sponsored by Pow Gloves and Never Summer Industries.

The last, but not least, addition to the TREW family is snowkiter Andrew Monty Goldman. Goldman lives in Sun Valley, ID and is also sponsored by Naish. He started the Snowkite Soldier event in 2006, and since has helped to put Idaho on the map as one of the best places to Snowkite.
