The Freeride World Tour (FWT) recently announced pro skier Tim Durtschi’s wildcard bid for the 2020 contest circuit. Known predominantly for his appearances in films by Teton Gravity Research, Durtschi is one of the most talented big-mountain freestyle skiers in the world, taking aerial maneuvers more commonly seen in terrain parks and flawlessly executing them in natural terrain. He joins Tanner Hall as skiers better known for their film parts joining the big-mountain tour in recent seasons.

“Freeride skiing has been the space where I have been able to truly express myself and I am beyond excited that my journey has led me to the FWT,” Durtschi told the FWT in an interview. “I know all the venues from photos and videos, but it is going to be different showing up to the location and being ready. I am looking forward to adapting to the face as it appears in front of me on that given day of the comp.”

The first stop of the 2020 FWT takes place at Hakuba, Japan on January 18.
