As summer approaches—and with it, summer ski camps—the time has come for lady shredders to start applying for the 6th annual Spirit of Sarah Scholarship.
The scholarship, which honors the late Sarah Burke, will provide one girl with a free Full Package (including lodging, lift tickets, coaching and more) to a youth session of Momentum Camps this summer, with sessions ranging from June 9 – July 17. Sarah, who was once a camper herself, as well as a long-time coach at Momentum Camps, continues to be a huge inspiration for skiers around the world. The scholarship hopes to continue her legacy by fostering the talent of the next generation of women’s skiing.
“One of the causes dear to Sarah’s heart was encouraging young girls to follow their dreams and believe in their skiing abilities,” says Camp Director John Smart. “Sarah played a big part in getting our ‘Girls Ski Week’ off the ground and inspired so many young women through her incredible skiing talent, but more importantly through her demonstration of modesty, kindness and her wonderfully positive approach to life.”
Girls ages 9-18 can apply by creating a short video presentation (no longer than five minutes) showing why they deserve to be awarded the scholarship and emailing the link to [email protected]. Learn more about how to apply, here.
