The Scandinavian Team Battle is BACK for summer 2025, scheduled for June 14. With one major difference being implemented and new faces competing, we’re as excited as ever for the next edition of one of FREESKIER’s favorite summer comps.

Held at one of the biggest dry slopes in Europe, Copenhill, the event has been a success since its inception four years ago. With electric skiing and a crowd atmosphere that would make an NBA Playoff game look docile, there are few things we would change about the Scandi Team Battle. That being said, it’s exciting to see that event coordinator and Team Denmark competitor Jakob Ebskamp is shifting up the formula this year.

New for 2025 is the introduction of the Open Qualifier Rail Jam. This is your chance to hit the turf with some of freeskiing’s finest. The Qualifier will be going down the same day as the main event, with none other than Jesper Tjäder (who won’t be competing this year due to an injury) judging those who sign up! The qualifier is free to enter, and the two winning riders will earn a spot in the main competition, as well as VIP passes to the afterparty.

There will be five national teams competing, plus a sixth team made up of the Open Qualifier Rail Jam winning riders. Team Sweden has dominated the competition in the past, but with Tjäder stepping aside and Joel Magnusson taking his place, the tables could be turning.

Team U.S.A. will not be attending this year, with the new addition of Team France looking to steal the win in their first year.

TEAM SWEDEN: Emil Granbom + Joel Magnusson

TEAM NORWAY: Eirik Moberg + Mats Bjørndal

TEAM DENMARK: Jakob Ebskamp + Gorm Garth-Grüner

TEAM FINLAND: Elias Syrja + Harald Hellström

TEAM FRANCE: Alaïs Develay + Mateo Socquet

TEAM QUALIFIER: To Be Decided

The Scandi Team Battle is always a breath of fresh air in the best way. In part, that’s due to the creative and unique course and subsequent outstanding skiing, but it’s also thanks to the community that rallies behind the entire event. “Scandinavian Team Battle is more than just skiing on plastic—it’s a celebration of the culture, the city, and the local community,” said Ebskamp when discussing the upcoming competition. “I couldn’t be more stoked to welcome this level of talent to my home city. This year is going to be next level.”

And he’s right. The whole thing is about much more than just skiing. There will be an entire festival the day of the battle, with bars, food stands and pop-up shops all attending around Copenhill. Live music and a rooftop afterpart will keep the energy going late into the night. If that’s not Copenhagen haven, I don’t know what is. Click here to snag tickets today.

Stay tuned as FREESKIER will keep you updated on the 2025 Scandinavian Team Battle.
