Summit County, CO (November 6, 2007)—- Team Summit, a local non-profit organization, specializes in on-snow training for up and coming ski and snowboard competitors. The program has a solid history in alpine racing and freestyle skiing, preparing many of their former students for careers on the U.S. Ski Team. This year, Team Summit is offering a specialized terrain park camp during the week of Thanksgiving.
With the best early season parks in the country; Summit County is the perfect place to begin freeride training. The team’s Thanksgiving Camp provides a great chance for anyone with a passion to ride, to get together and ski with the best coaches around.
This year’s guest coach, Steele Spence, is a world-renowned freeskier, X-Games athlete, and ski movie star. Steele is also part owner of 4Frnt skis. Originally from Snowmass, CO, Steele is “extremely stoked to work with aspiring young skiers. “ Team Summit is equally stoked to have Steele guest coach this year’s Thanksgiving camp.
The camp will include training and instruction from seasoned professionals, on rails, jumps and half pipe. It is offered from Tuesday November 20th to Sunday November 25th (excluding Thanksgiving Day) and will hold training at Copper, Breckenridge and Keystone Mountain. Skiers are able to attend the camp on a per day basis, for $60 a day, or pay $250 for the entire camp. All skiers need to be a registered member with USSA to attend the camp.
