As many of you know, we’re celebrating our 10th anniversary here at Freeskier Magazine. In celebration of this momentous event we’re bringing back the infamous Freeskier Tour Bus for a little something we like to call, simply, “The Ten Year Tour”, brought to you by SkullCandy, Spyder and RedBull.
Here’s how it works…
We’ve got a 45 foot Prevost tour bus that we’re making the ultimate road trip on. The action starts in good ol’ Boulder, CO and moves straight to X Games 12 in Aspen for 4 days of debauchery, competition and coverage. While in Aspen we’ll be throwing one hell of a bash at the Hotel Jerome in celebration of our birthday. Sorry, this bash is invite only. You can get in if you know somebody or if you’re sort of a big deal. If not, you’ll have to stay tuned to the podcast and website to see all the shenanigans that went down.
After the X Games are over and our hangovers subside we’ll be loading up the tour bus with Peter Olenick, Colby West, TJ Schiller and the Freeskier crew and making the drive to beautiful Las Vegas, NV for the annual Snowsports Industries America trade show. Did we mention that the bus is sponsored by SkullCandy, Red Bull, Triple Eight Vodka and Coors? Clearly we won’t be getting any rest for this leg of the road trip – but dont worry – we literally have a ‘designated driver,’ who gets paid to keep the bus rolling safely while our friends enjoy the libations responsibly in the luxerious lounge out back.
While in Vegas we’ll be doing the SIA thing and hosting parties on the bus, offering up morning bloody mary’s in the parking lot so show goers can ease their way into the trade show and keep their buzz going. On Tuesday night Freeskier has teamed up with the Palms and RedBull at the new Moon club for our Ten Year Anniversry party and as if that weren’t enough, Wednesday night we’ll be at the Empire Ballroom with a Spyder for a casual get together with Little John? Yeaaaaaahhhhhhh! Whaaaaaat? Okay!
Once the crunk-cup runs dry and the SIA’s doors close its back onto the bus and off to Copper Mountain for the US Freeskiing Open and some special news from Woodward at Copper. By around this time, most of our livers will be shot, we’ll be sleep depraved and will be in need of around a week of rest. We’ll have Matt Harvey play some kids for money in poker, take the winnings and gas up the bus for our return voyage to Boulder where we will ultimately collapse and require weeks of psycho-therapy and detox.
All the shenanigans will be heavily documented right here thanks to the bus having internet, so stay tuned to Freeskier.com. All the action starts next Wednesday!
