Grand Targhee Resort in conjunction with efforts from Rob LaPier (local head youth free-ski coach) and the IFSA will hold it’s inaugural Junior Freeride competition off the North face of Peaked Mountain. There is much anticipated excitement in the air to bring this style event to the resort. This will be a limited entry competition will allow 50 of the top junior competitors of the region, both male and female skiers of 11 – 17 years, on a first come, first-serve sign-up. Of note editorial coverage, photos and video will be posted on the Powder Magazine Website.
The freeskiing comp will have a training/inspection day on Friday, March 21st.
Saturday’s competition will consist of 1 run per athlete. The Finals on Sunday, the competition will be a 3 run format to determine the winner.
The judging criteria will be: Line, Control, Fluidity, Technique and Aggressiveness.
