Target joins forces with Rosalind Groenewoud

This morning, Target announced a new partnership with Rosalind Groenewoud, a.k.a. Roz G. Roz becomes the ninth member of the Target action sports squad, which includes skiers Simon Dumont and Torin Yater-Wallace. The 2012 AFP Women’s Halfpipe World Champion, Overall World Champion in 2009 and 2010 and five-time X Games medalist (including gold at Winter X 2012 and Euro X 2012), Roz is one of the most decorated women in freeskiing. Known for lofty, and technical airs in the pipe, Roz is one of the most consistent competitors on the circuit and is on track for another standout season in 2012/13.

“It is just amazing to be a part of the Target team,” said Groenewoud. “I am really lucky to partner with a brand that is so progressive. I also really admire Target’s commitment to giving, especially their focus on supporting schools. Being that I’m working toward my college degree, I appreciate the brand’s commitment to education.”

A BC resident, Roz joins the Target team at an exciting time, as Target is set to open stores in Canada for the first time in March, 2013. “What impresses us most about Roz is her thoughtful approach to life as an athlete. She has set lofty goals for herself that reach far beyond the snow, and it’s clear she will be a great representative of Target,” said Devin O’Brien, Lifestyle Marketing manager for Target. “We’re excited to partner with Roz on her future athletic successes, philanthropic goals and her positive influence on women’s sports.” In the wake of this morning’s announcement, Roz and Target embark on a media tour in New York City.
