Taos Ski Valley joins the Ikon Pass

Taos Ski Valley joins the Ikon Pass

A mere 24 hours after the announcement that Solitude Mountain Resort and Brighton Resort would be joining the Ikon Pass for 2018-19, another premier western resort has been added to the pass for its initial season. Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico will be added to the Ikon Pass this winter, bringing the total destination count to 30. Ikon Pass holders will receive seven days of skiing at Taos, while Ikon Bass Pass holders will receive five, with 10 blackout dates (Dec. 26-31, 2018; Jan. 19-20, 2019; Feb. 16-17, 2019).

“Taos Ski Valley is thrilled to join the Ikon Pass and its impressive lineup of outstanding destinations,” said David Norden, CEO of Taos Ski Valley. “Taos has long been recognized as one of the iconic mountains of North America, is undergoing a major revitalization, and is the world’s first certified ski resort B-Corporation. As such, our mountain culture and environmental ethos align perfectly with the Ikon Pass community. Taos is honored to have been selected as an Ikon Pass partner.”

Located in the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, Taos Ski Valley boasts over 100 trails and is home to some of the most highly regarded expert terrain in the western United States. The resort is also undergoing a $300 million infrastructure update that includes a new hotel (The Blake) and high speed quad chairlift, both of which will be ready to go this season.

It seems not a week goes by without another domino falling in the resort consolidation game. At this point, you can expect that Taos won’t be the last ski area added to a season pass offering before winter 2018-19 kicks off.
