Tales from the Road

Tales from the Road

Tales from the Road, Park City and Salt Lake City….
By Kevin Kruse

The Scott Sportsmobile rolled out of Idaho on Friday and into Park City for the MSP premiere of Seven Sunny Days at Club Suede. I met up with athletes Tim Russell, and Ashley Battersby to talk about plans for this season and beyond. Ash is getting ready to make a trip over to Norway to meet up with the HH boys for a photo shoot, and Tim graced us with his presence at the MSP premiere before departing for a rail jam at Boreal the next night (word on the street is he slayed it). Ashley is looking forward to comps this year as well as focusing on putting together film segments. After talking to Tim, it seems like he really wants to ski some lines and put together a stellar segment. Obviously he will make time in his busy filming schedule to change diapers and compete in some big comps as well. MSP packed the house for another strong premiere of Seven Sunny Days, and the PBR flowed through Club Suede like the Colorado Rockies through this year’s post-season.

Saturday brought some meetings in PC with Kerry Miller and his group of ever-talented freeride shredders. Several of the groms loaded into the Sportsmobile for the trip down to SLC for another MSP premiere. Alexis Godbout, Adam Battersby, Alex Schlopy, Jesse Tidbits, Vincent Gagnier, and other local PC shredders joined up to catch the new movie for the first time. Alexis was awed by the antics of Jean-Loic and his wing suit flying posse. The night went off and everyone was again stoked on the movie.

Sunday included a quick tour of the Utah Olympic Park training facility, and then it was back on the road to Ketchum…

Stay tuned for more news from the road as the season gets rolling…
