Skier Accused of Attacking Police Officer at Brighton Resort

A 21-year-old skier is accused of assaulting a police officer in the Brighton Resort, Utah, parking lot on Saturday, according to KSL in Salt Lake City. The news outlet reports that jail documents show Nathan Sheffield Harrison ignored parking lot attendant orders, refusing to stop his car when he arrived at the resort to find the parking lot full.

A police officer was on hand and said a tussle ensued and Harrison, a Brighton season ticket holder, struck the officer, tried to grab his gun and shoved his head into a snowbank. In short, it sounds like the kid went ballistic. And who could blame him? The ski area had reported eight inches of new snow overnight and 32 inches in the 48 hours. Nathan Harrison obviously had a case of powder fever, and the prospect of losing out on the freshies drove him into a frenzy, resulting in his attack on the police officer and subsequent imprisonment.

Let that be a lesson to us all: if you’re a true powder hound, just set an early alarm. For the full news report, click here.
