Shredding Whistler during the 2010 Olympics

Shredding Whistler during the 2010 Olympics

Heavy snow might not make for good race conditions, but it makes for some insane freeriding at the mountain. We sampled the goods yesterday… and they were good. Whistler bigwigs Stuart Rempel (VP Sales & Marketing) and Dave Brownlie (President) took us on an afternoon tour of the mountain. We charged hard with these long-time locals who each boast over 40 days on snow already this season. We barely kept up. Tearing around with these hot shots was one of the best days in BC thus far. There was no attitude or righteousness – just shredding with industry friends (who happen to run the joint). It was an afternoon to remember!

Then this morning, we were treated to fresh pow as about 20 cms landed in the alpine. With most of the Whistler tourists busy checking out the venues and sampling the local flavor, the mountains were empty, which meant an entire day of fresh tracks. We ripped around Whistler (Harmony and Peak) and face shots abounded. Looking for more of that over the next couple days.
