Yet another edition of #FreeskierFest kicks off this weekend in Aspen, CO. On the docket: eight straight days of ski testing madness on the slopes of good ol’ Ajax. We’ve got nearly 40 ripping skiers who are ready to put 2015’s best boards through the wringer, the forecast is calling for fresh snow, we’ve got après parties lined up throughout the week (including a full fledged flip cup tournament, culminating in our own World Flip Cup Championships), we’ve got family dinners, more parties, more skiing, and more parties… You know the drill, right?

Anyhow, keeping with the tradition that we started in 2013, for each day of the test we’ll be hosting an Instagram contest for our ski testers. The rules are simple: post a fun-filled photo or video to Instagram and tag #FreeskierFest. From there, our staff awards a bottle of champagne to the post we deem to be the best, each and every day. That translates to nine bottles of champagne and a mess load of Instabangers. Just go ahead and browse the hashtag to see for yourself.

While that’s all biscuits and gravy for our oh-so-talented group of testers, this year we wanted to rope you into the mix, as well. For each day of the ski test, beginning Sunday, March 2, we’re inviting you to post a photo or video to Instagram, showcasing yourself and/or your friends having a blast on the mountain. By participating, you’ll be eligible to win this pair (left) of PBR branded NAS skis, by Lib Tech.

Specifically, here’s how it’ll go down: Post a photo or video to Instagram and tag @FreeskierMagazine and use the hashtag #FreeskierFanFest. Ideally, your ‘gram will showcase some sort of on-hill antics, like this. If you’re unable to get up to the mountains this week, we’ll accept staged photos with your skiing gear, too, sort of like this.

Each night, as we award a bottle of champagne to the deserving(est) ski tester, our staff will also select an outstanding post, tagged #FreeskierFanFest; our daily selections will be deemed “finalists.” When our time in Aspen comes to a close, we’ll have selected eight of your best ‘grams. Next: we’ll throw ’em all together in a web post and allow the public to vote for their favorites. After a few days of voting, a #FreeskierFanFest champ will be crowned by popular vote, and the winner will take home the PBR sticks as a reward. Get out there, get after it, ‘gram it.
