After a four-year hiatus, Red Bull Cold Rush made its triumphant return on February 3. Some of the best big-mountain skiers in the world congregated in Revelstoke, BC to participate in three different disciplines—big-mountain, slopestyle and cliffs. The big-mountain portion of the contest kicked off the festivities in the Spilt Milk and Thumbs Up zones of Mount Mackenzie. On the men’s side, Stan Rey went backflip crazy, Sean Pettit dropped a cliff upwards of 50-feet and Sammy Carlson and Kye Petersen spun beautiful 720s. Not to be outmatched, Tatum Monod, Angel Collinson and Leah Evans all threw down impressive performances of their own on the women’s side.
The slopestyle event takes place today and the cliffs portion is on February 6. Cold Rush is a peer-judged contest, and results will be revealed on the evening of February 6. For now, enjoy photo highlights of day one, above.
