Honoring the late, great JP Auclair, the second annual JP Memorial just wrapped up at Riksgränsen, Sweden, 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. The event ran May 17-20. Awards were dished out for Best Trick; Best Mute Backflip; Best QP Straight Air; Best QP Trick; Best 90s Outfit; Best Hair; Most Fun; and Best Photo. We’re still waiting on word as to who won each of these awards… News doesn’t travel quite so fast from Santa’s neck of the woods. We’ll be sure to update you in time. For now, get a taste of the action via the smattering of images, above.

One of the world’s most captivating ski destinations, “Riks” is an ideal setting for enthusiasts pursuing all forms of the sport they love: from touring to heli to resort laps. Riksgränsen is also regarded as a birthplace of modern skiing, where, in 1998, future Armada co-founders JP and Chris “O.C.” O’Connell met at the King of the Hill contest. I myself had the opportunity to venture there for the inaugural JP Memorial, last May, and I was utterly blown away by the beauty, remoteness, and the skiing possibilities.

Kudos to Armada and co. for bringing this event back for year two. Here’s to JP.
