The first stop of the Winter Dew Tour came to an end Sunday in Breckenridge, CO and several SCOTT athletes showcased their skills through the week. On the Men’s Superpipe side, it was Justin Dorey putting on a show all week. Justin who may be one of the most underrated skiers out there, was spinning both ways, 9’s, 10’s, you name it, he was perfecting it. Justin was rewarded with a 2nd place finish behind Tanner Hall, who continued his winning ways. Also skiing extremely well in the pipe finals were Peter Olenick and Simon Dumont representing SCOTT Poles. It was a tough comp through all the wind and cold but it did not stop anyone from throwing down all their big tricks.
The slopestyle course was a force to be reckoned with all week as well. Wind, cold, lack of speed, all haunted the athletes, until the field was whittled down to 12. Alexis Godbout, Matt Walker, Henrik Harlaut, Simon Dumont(poles) and Jossi Wells(poles) all skied into the final 12. When the winds stopped it was the youngsters Jossi Wells and Henrik Harlaut taking home 2nd and 3rd respectively. On the women’s side, Keri Herman skied her way into third in probably the gnarliest conditions any of the ladies had ever skied in. Wind Gusts in excess of 40 mph kept the girls from throwing the tricks they wanted to. Make sure to check out all the photos in the gallery of kids throwing down at Dew Tour Breck. See you at Mt. Snow for installment number 2 of the Dew Tour.
