Sam Favret brought it home for France today at the Red Bull Linecatcher in Les Arcs, linking clean tricks with smooth, fast skiing down the Cirque du Fond Blanc. Parker White picked up second place, and Switzerland’s Nicolas Vuignier rounded out the podium at the prestigious backcountry freestyle event.

After two days of waiting for the weather to clear, today the clouds finally broke, allowing a stacked field of 20 skiers to tear apart the Linecatcher venue in near-perfect conditions. When asked how the snow was on the face, the  same answer came back again and again from the riders: “Deep.”
