On Tuesday March 1, 2011, the Freeskiing community lost another soul in Ryan Hawks, 25. Hawks, a resident of Utah, was competing in the North American Freeskiing Championships held at Kirkwood, CA when he crashed executing a backflip off a cliff in the Kirkwood Cirque area. Hawks was airlifted to Reno's Renown Health Center where he passed away from injuries sustained in the crash.

Weeks prior to his passing, Ryan and his friends visited Mad River Glen resort in Vermont, the resort that Hawks grew up skiing at. While there, Brent Harrewyn filmed the group and put together this tribute video. Ryan Hawks is wearing the green jacket and black pants in the video.
