Red Bull Signs Teen Superstar Bobby Brown

Red Bull, the energy drink company known for not signing up every new talent that hits the market, has recently picked up the hottest thing in freeskiing: Bobby Brown. Bobby, the reigning AFP Slopestyle champion, X Games medalist (2 gold, 1 silver) and MSP mainstay joins other US Red Bull freeskiing athletes Simon Dumont, Tanner Hall and Grete Eliassen.

“I’m beyond stoked,” says Brown of being teammates with the aforementioned athletes. “To be on a team with some of the biggest names in skiing is an honor. The past few years, I have looked at the Red Bull team and said to myself, ‘that’s who I wanted to be with’.” With Bobby’s growing talent and name, no doubt this relationship will go very far. “I have seen what they have done with their athletes in the past and it just makes me so excited for the future. There are going to be a lot of oppurtunities to do really cool, unique things with Red Bull.”

Brown, who has been on a tear that past couple of seasons, was rumored to have been courted by many non-endemic companies. “Well, after X games a few things came about and Red Bull was there showing their interest. We have been talking with them since then and now its official!” explains Brown.

And the feeling from Red Bull’s Santa Monica, CA US Headquarters is just as excited. “It’s not everyday there’s an opportunity to work with a talent like Bobby,” says Sports Marketer Peter Jasienski. “Bobby’s energy and competitiveness makes his addition to the Red Bull family pretty transparent… we’re stoked!”

Bobby joins a long list of freeskiing legends, not only in the US community, but the international scene as well. Other athletes include Jon Olsson, Sean Pettit, PK Hunder, Russ Henshaw and the late Shane McConkey.

“All in all its just a dream come true!” says Bobby.
