Rage Films Goes to Jackson…
Words by, Dylan Natale
After much debate on where to start off the new year Kyler Cooley and I were talked into making the snowy drive up to Jackson, Wyoming. We met Taylor Felton, filmer Dan Norkunas, and photographer Brian Becker mid-storm on the night of the fifth.
From there we spent the next seven days exploring Jackson Hole’s backcountry in hopes of finding something TGR had yet to stumble over. What we found was lots of powder, cold weather, cliff drops, deep scary snow pack, pillows, step downs, and a week long storm. Each morning the routine was the same. Wake up, eat, drive to the mountain, ski powder, return t the condo, and sleep.
As the trip wound down, I don’t know what was more impressive: how much snow had fallen or how much food Kyler and Taylor had eaten. Taylor put down almost three dozen eggs, 20 sandwiches, six boxes of granola bars, a 12 pack of bagels, and that was just breakfast and lunch. Kyler managed to kill two huge boxes of cereal and found room for heaping servings of pasta at least twice a day, giving him ample time to daydream about his girlfriend and a new truck.
Big thanks to Lisa Watson at Jackson Hole, and our guides, Cory Felton, Jeff Annetts and a couple of dudes with weird nicknames.
P.S. Always slash the cameraman with lots of powder when you ski by. You might ruin the shot for the next guy, but your shoot will look dope.
