[Zeal Press Release, May 1, 2012:] ZEAL Optics is proud to now call pro skier and adventurer, Caroline Gleich, part of the team. Caroline joins fellow wanderlusts and pro snowboarders Kimmy Fasani and Austen Sweetin, along with pro skier Whit Boucher on the winter team. Known for her big mountain, backcountry prowess, Caroline has been featured on the cover of Ski Magazine multiple times and has graced the pages of Powder, Skiing, Ski Journal, Fitness, Men’s Journal and Outside.
Passionate about human powered activities, Caroline hikes to earn her turns in the backcountry. She is also a committed environmentalist, working with Protect Our Winters and HEAL Utah in an effort to inform others about climate change and bring clean energy to the state.“Caroline is not only an extraordinary skier, she is passionate about everything that ZEAL stands for,” said Joe Prebich, ZEAL’s director of marketing. “She will be a integral part of the team, helping with product testing, development, and design. We are very excited to bring her into the fold.”
Caroline grew up playing ice hockey in Minnesota, dreaming of the days when she would become a professional skier. Not only has she exceeded that dream, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from University of Utah in the meantime. She currently lives in Salt Lake City, UT, where she utilizes all of her surroundings for her own adventure. Besides skiing, Caroline enjoys stand up paddling, hiking, skateboarding, yoga, surfing, gardening and cooking local, organic food. From sports modeling to stand up paddle boarding down the local rivers, Caroline is always on the go and living life to the fullest.
