Pretty Good World Premiere by Rage Films

Pretty Good World Premiere by Rage Films

Rage’s World Premiere is “Pretty Good.”

September usually means back to school for a majority of you, but here in Bend, Oregon, it means the start of “celebratory” season.  Rage kicked off our world premiere of “Pretty Good” on September 12 at the Tower Theater.  The weekend began with the usual caravan of trucks coming from Utah, Seattle, Canada, and beyond.  Ashley Battersby, Gus Kenworthy, Alex Schlopy, and Joss Christensen were the first to cruise into Bend, and perhaps the smartest, gearing up for the big weekend with a good night’s sleep.

Friday began with the Rage parking lot becoming a playground for skate sessions and Facebooking while waiting for the infamous Rage Radio hour.  Alex Schlopy clearly aired his talent to listeners as a future “disc jokey in the making.”  Gus told his audience what he really thought of our filmer extraordinaire, Dan Norkunas.  Mark Dvorak and Joss Christensen talked about the making of, “Pretty Good.” If you’re in the “know,” then you know that Mark Dvorak hosts the VIP pre-screening party as well as the annual ping pong tourney at his house each year.  The Rage crew along with copious amounts of beer, kicked off the party with Chug, Mertion, and Schuster pulling in with their party pants, or lack thereof, ready to go.

Saturday morning, or shall we say, afternoon, lethargically began with Gus having a small hernia that we would be late to the kickball game and Dan would, “yell at him.”  Much to his relief, he was the first to arrive.  Kickball went off with it’s usual “short bus” behavior.  Joe Schuster and Ian Cosco decided to sport their dirty underwear, held up by a neon shoelace for the world to see while they multi-tasked the game of kickball and beer chugging, simultaneously.  Our amazing filmer’s, Hennie and AJ, fielded the outfield, while Derek Spong, the silent beast, kicked home run after home run.  Mertion rocked his gangster redneck uniform, tied up like a cute, little bikini, while the rest of the Rage gang played and waived at gawkers, who were more or less staring in sheer horror at what they were witnessing.

“Pretty Good” premiered to two huge crowds, Brian Becker was the proud winner of a pair of skis, flasks were a plenty, and all in all, the show wasn’t just “Pretty Good,” it was “Pretty F…ing Good” according to people exiting the theater.  Velvet, Sky’s newest business venture and the coolest bar in Bend, hosted the after party. “Blame it on the alcohol” was the theme of the night as some (who shall remain nameless) went home with ladies whose names were unknown until they woke up next to them, others passed out in front of Velvet and had to be carried to the car, and some just had a “Pretty Good” time.
