Freeskiing phenomenon, TJ Schiller, signs with POC for the 2009 season. Schiller, who is returning from a season ending knee injury in 2008 joins an already impressive stable of POC athletes including Tanner Hall, Jon Olsson, Daniel Dhers, Blake Nyman, and a new crew of up and comers, Willis Brown, Tucker Perkins, and Tyson Bolduc.

“I’m really excited to be a part of the POC Team,” states Schiller. “POC demonstrates a strong commitment to improving the safety of extreme gravity sports and by joining POC and wearing the Receptor helmet I’m ready for an off the hook season.”

TJ, 22, resides in Vernon, BC and is considered a freeskiing superstar. Prior to last year’s injury Schiller competed in six big air contests from January 2007 to December 2007 and his been on the podium at every major international event over the past three seasons.

Willis Brown, 20, is a new addition to the Team and brings a host of dynamic tricks and a ton of energy to the group. Willis is coming off a season of strong results in the 2008 Opens Freeski Tour and captured the Collegiate Freeskiing Championship in April at Keystone, CO.

Tucker Perkins, 17, is another new addition; he hails from North Hampton, New Hampshire and had a break through season with wins at the Telus World Ski Festival in Whistler where he won the Halfpipe and the Superhit competitions. Perkins has already made his presence known this season with a sixth place finish at the Volkl NZ Freeski Open in August.

Tyson Bolduc, 26, of Vail Colorado looks to build upon last years successes where he had several podium finishes and culminated his season with a second place result at the US Extreme Freeskiing Championships in Crested Butte. Tyson is a very self-motivated athlete and we anticipate another successful season for him on several levels.

All of these POC athletes sport POC’s Receptor helmet, a sports specific helmet that caters to the needs of each athlete and his or her sport. The helmet features POC’s patent pending system with double overlapping shells providing breathability without sacrificing safety. The helmet also comes with an upgradable option of Skullcandy earphones that allow for the use of an MP3/Music player and phone.
