Photo Shootout: Summer Edition Gallery Party Recap

To celebrate the year-round beauty of the mountains, FREESKIER brought the local community together in Aspen, Colorado last night for its first-ever Photo Shootout: Summer Edition Gallery Party.

The stage is set for the FREESKIER gallery party.

Hosted in the spacious lobby and bar area of the Limelight Hotel, located in the heart of Aspen’s downtown, the event showcased twenty of the contest’s most impressive photographs in beautiful, large-format prints.

Accompanied by delicious food, nicely mixed drinks and good friends, the event was a stand-out success that brought the skiing community together for an end-of-summer jamboree.

From the thousands of submissions to the Photo Shootout: Summer Edition, our panel of judges identified finalists and awarded winners who demonstrated not only excellent composition and creativity but also the ability to capture the essence of summer in the mountains. The artists showcased understand the magic of the mountains whether cloaked in deep powder or tacky dirt, and how one special image can elevate viewers to a new frame of mind.

Showcasing these photos in such a stunning, interactive setting allowed the local community to come together, share in the stoke and reflect on a summer well-spent in the mountains. Ski brand and Aspen mountain representatives, local shop owners, contest participants—including overall winner Wade Godson—all showed up for the unique gallery showing.
