For the second year in a row, Okemo is pushing their closing date back thanks to solid base depths and strong interest in skiing well into the spring. The original closing date of April 13th has now been moved to Sunday, April 20th!

As of this posting, we’re 97% open, with average base depths ranging from 48 to 54 inches. Coverage on the hill is still awesome – if I saw two bare spots today, that was a lot. After a long, cold winter that sometimes saw extended periods of hard snow conditions, the season extendage (ok, I totally made up that word) is music to the ears of bump skiers & park/pipe riders!

If the last weekend this year turns out anything like the last weekend did last season, there are going to be some serious goggle tans being sported around the Northeast in the coming weeks!
