Local rippers and Aspen/Snowmass Athletes competed in the athlete judged event with Torin Wallace taking home a pair of Salomon skis for the first place skier. John Hemminger took first among the snowboarders winning a Salomon snowboard. Finally Tae Westcott took home a $100 gift certificate from D&E Ski and Snowboard Shop for his clown costume.
This Halloween themed competition featured 50 skiers and snowboarders in the park, which consisted of several rail and box features.
A significant pile of snow from the record-breaking 07-08 season was preserved over the summer by a large snow sealing blanket made by the Swiss company Landlot. This remaining snow allowed Aspen Skiing Company to fire up the lifts earlier than ever before for the Jack-O-Lantern Jib.
