SHRED and SLYTECH are thrilled to welcome its newest freeskier, Lars Oftedal Bjørum, to the family. Hailing from Oslo, Lars is a proud member of the Norwegian national ski team and a 2014 Sochi Olympic hopeful. Bjørum grew up in Sørkedalen, a small town just outside of Oslo. With Wyllerløypa, a small mountain, just 100 meters from his home, Bjørum was on skis at the age of two and never looked back.
“After skiing for so long, it became clear that it was a path I wanted to pursue,” said Bjørum. “I graduated from school a year ago, and I decided to continue skiing and compete as much as possible. Hopefully I’ll be able to participate in X Games and other big events in the upcoming years.”
In the past year, Lars went from 924th to 36th in the AFP overall world ranking. He is currently ranked 12th in the world in big air and leaped from 760th to 33rd in AFP standings for slopestyle. Shred and Slytech are eager to see him continue on this incredible path.
Bjørum plans to compete in a series of top level competitions throughout 2014. Shred and Slytech look forward to supporting him and watching him progress during the upcoming season.
