Nordica and evo have teamed up with San Diego artist Alberto Lemus to bring you a special edition pair of skis dubbed the Cultura. Aimed at including a new community of riders, these sticks are inclusive and insanely cool.
Top sheets and ski products, in general, are usually designed with a European or Western influence, but Lemus’ top sheets are made to attract a new audience. “The artwork is intended to catch [the Latin community’s] eye and catch their interest in hopes that they will get out there and learn to ski or really do anything outdoors,” says Lemus. Aside from the colorful design, every pair of sticks sold gives back to the community they’re aiming to include. $150 of every sale is donated to three organizations led by and focused on the Latino and immigrant communities—Hartland Community 4 Youth & Families, Latino Outdoors and Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights.
Based on Nordica’s Unleashed 90, the Cultura is an all-mountain rider with a full wood core. With camber underfoot and a tip-and-tail rocker, there’s plenty of pop to play in the park. Only 250 of these limited edition planks are available. Get ’em before they’re gone.
