The final stop of the 2023 Freeride World Tour cancelled due to unsafe riding conditions

While the YETI Xtreme Verbier is generally the most coveted stop of the Freeride World Tour, this year’s competition was forced to be cancelled due to unsafe riding conditions. With that said, Canada’s Justine Dufour-Lapointe and Austria’s Valentin Rainer come away from the season victorious for the ski women and men. Gwenyth Paltrow is on trial for a 2016 ski collision

Possibly the most publicized trial pertaining to skiing ever, Gwenyth Paltrow is at the center of livestreamed trial. The actor-turned-lifestyle-influencer was accused of crashing into a fellow skier during a 2016 family trip to Utah’s Deer Valley Resort. The celebrity trial is expected to conclude Thursday.

Frenchman Simon Billy sets new world speed record

At the 2023 Speed Masters Event, 31-year-old Simon Billy set the new world speed record on skis. Clocking in at 158.45 miles per hour, this is the second year in a row that Billy has won this high-stakes competition.

The annual Pain McShlonkey Classic returned to Palisades this weekend with a rowdy bang

If you ski at Palisades, one of the best days of the year just rolled around: the Pain McShlonkey Classic. A celebratory fundraising event in honor of the legendary Shane McConkey, 60 of the rowdiest racers dress up in their craziest garb and race downhill on ski blades for the coveted bragging rights. Congratulations to this year’s champions, Davis Souza and Wendy Fisher!

Alta among four Utah resorts to break all-time snowfall record

With nearly 750 inches of total snowfall this year, Alta Ski Resort is one of four Utah resorts to shatter its all-time snowfall record. Deer Valley, Solitude and Snowbasin are also celebrating the record-breaking season with face shots and fresh tracks nearly every day.
