The east keeps getting ‘er done. Mount Snow is now open with terrain that includes a park featuring more than a dozen features. The opening marks the first lift-serviced terrain in Vermont for the 2008-2009 season.
On the first day of the season, today, lift tickets were a mere $10, with all proceeds donated directly to the Guy Hawkins fund. Over $1,800 was collected and will assist local cancer patients and their families.
Approximately 300 skiers and riders showed up for the “Tricks for Treats†jib session on Launch Pad, enjoying a free barbeque, free Halloween candy, and music. A costume contest was held, and Rory Bruder won a snowboard for his ice cream cone get-up, while Ashley Coulthard won a pair of skis for his “ski bum†outfit.
Mount Snow will continue to utilize the resort’s highly efficient fan gun snowmaking machines and will focus on top to bottom snowmaking, with the goal of stockpiling snow in preparation for lift service from the summit.
