Once again it’s Cinco De Mayo, which can only mean one thing: The Monster Energy ski team has gathered in Squaw Valley, CA for a healthy dose of custom-built features, sunshine, spring slush and film/photo shoots. Nearing the end of many of the athlete’s busy schedules, Monster De Mayo at Squaw is a time for the riders to relax, shoot some unique features and come together as an entire team. Hailing from all over, the crew here in Squaw is: TJ Schiller, Peter Olenick, Jossi Wells, Colby West, Tom Wallisch, Corey Vanular, Ian Cosco, Luke Van Valin, Justin Dorey, Sarah Burke and Kristi Leskinen.
Squaw Valley has set up a number of custom features for the team including a canon-like rail feature, a double-gap whale tail feature and a channel gap table top (that is primed and ready for tomorrow’s session). In addition to shooting the world-class team on unique features, the team has been slaying the new and improved public park on Squaw. With a multitude of rails, small and medium jumps and a dedicated lift, it’s the perfect place for a session, let alone a team session.
As the team eats, sleeps and shoots together here in Squaw, the park builders have got some new features for the team to hit tomorrow, as the Monster De Mayo week here at Squaw continues. Stay tuned for the videos, soon to come.
