Moguls Competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics

Moguls Competition at the 2010 Winter Olympics

Saturday marked the women’s moguls event at Cypress Mountain, just outside of Vancouver. Heavy rain made it a challenging event, but the girls skied amazingly well and all four US team members advanced to the finals. US’s Hannah Kearney claimed the gold medal (first US gold of the games), beating silver medalist Jenn Heil of Canada by almost a full point. US skier Shannon Bharke earned the bronze. It was a good day for team USA.

Sunday was men’s moguls and the weather cooperated nicely. Team Canada took top honors at the men’s contest with Alexandre Bilodeau earning the gold medal (the first Canadian to win an Olympic gold on Canadian soil). Australia’s Dale Begg-Smith earned the silver, and Bryon Wilson of the US won the bronze.
