Top of the morning, folks, and welcome to this special edition of the Monday Morning Wake Up Call. We’re breaking the pattern this week to bring you some exciting news, and a contest to accompany. Without further ado…

We’re excited to announce Mr. Sammy Carlson has nabbed the cover of Freeskier’s November issue, our 2014 Resort Guide. Sammy had himself one heck of a great year—securing X Games Real Ski Backcountry gold, hosting yet another successful invitational event at Mt. Bachelor and producing a handful of awesome edits—and to say he’s deserving of this honor is an understatement. While we’re not releasing the actual cover just yet, we’re introducing a contest we’re certain you’ll enjoy.

Below are a handful of Sammy’s latest videos. Within one of these edits you’ll find a clip shot from almost the exact same angle as the photograph of the stunt that’s featured on the cover of our November issue. We’re challenging you to find the right freeze frame, snag a screen shot and upload it to Freeskier’s Facebook page. Should you get it right, you’ll be eligible to win a prize package featuring gear from Sammy’s sponsors.

We’ll be unveiling the cover via a live Google+ Hangout with Sammy later this week. Stay tuned for more information on a specific date/time. Following the Hangout, we’ll announce a winner(s) of the contest—should there be one.
