K2 and their all-woman Alliance team sure know how to kick off the ski season the right way! Along with brand sponsors Smith, A-Basin, Polar, and Helly Hansen, these hardcore ski chicks will be teaming up to help fight breast cancer and show off their stamina and skills as they ski an ungodly amount of vertical feet in 4 hours. I was lucky enough to chat with team member Michelle Parker about everything from the event’s beginnings to her preparations for it.

As the brainchild of a monthly roundtable meeting held by the Alliance team, this event is “something collective, that all the alliance members came up with together. So, it’s our idea that K2 is putting into action,” Michelle said. As dedicated athletes, the team is clearly passionate about promoting health and well-being and their obviously getting the job done.

But, this event will be no easy task, as it requires team members like Michelle to be in amazing shape. Training both on and off -season is already a must for these athletes, but even Michelle knows that this event will be quite the challenge. She has even introduced a new element to her fitness program and the Pink Chase “will be the big test,” she said.

One thing’s for sure. These ladies are ready to ski. Catch Michelle out on the slopes on October 31 as she puts her “waxed-up K2 Missconducts” to good use. Will she achieve her predicted 40 runs in 4 hours? We shall see Ms. Parker…
