May Storm Blankets Arapahoe Basin for Late Season Pow Day

It was a good morning to be along the I-70 corridor in Colorado! The high reaches of the Rockies typically see storms roll through in early May, and this year has been no different. With temps having stayed relatively low over the last few weeks above 10,000 feet, the skiing has been consistent and terrain has remained filled in the high alpine.

Winter Park and Loveland both saw hearty snow totals, while Arapahoe Basin got its own taste of the white room. The Basin clocked almost a foot of snow in the last 24 hours, giving the mountain a refresh before heading into the home stretch of the season. There’s no closing day on the calendar yet at The Legend, so you can bet they’ll be spinning lifts as long as Mother Nature allows.

It ain’t over! Here are FREESKIER’s favorite resorts in the U.S. spinning lifts in May.
