Marcus Goguen wins the Men’s Ski GoPro Line of Winter February with his run from the Freeride World Tour stop in Kicking Horse, British Columbia. This year’s Kicking Horse stop was electric with incredible conditions on the resort’s Ozone Face, leading to athletes sending it for glory. We saw huge stomps, massive crashes and Marcus Goguen’s near-perfect run.
Marcus Goguen started on the far looker’s right of the venue, attacking the Ozone Face with the calculated and explosive skiing we have learned to love from the Canadian phenom. In a blink of an eye, Marcus had dissected the face, stomping a backflip, a huge cork 7 and a massive straight air in the process. This run would end up giving him the win and sending him to first place in the overall Freeride World Tour standings. Check out Marcus’s winning run below
This past February’s Women’s Ski GoPro Line of Winter Winner is also a Freeride World Tour athlete as Astrid Cheylus took home $5,000 for her run at the Val Thorens, France stop of the Tour. The conditions at Astrid’s home event were more than ideal with with blower pow coating the Lac Noir face. Astrid’s run started with some untouched turns and a cliff drop on skier’s right of the venue before traversing into a technical section of the face where she laced a huge laid out backflip. Astrid finished her run stomping a cliff before cruising her way into the finish corral. This run would end up winning first place of the specific Tour stop and shot her into second place in the overall Tour standings.
With the snow dumping in the Northern Hemisphere this month, we’re betting that the March’s winner will be another heater. Think it could be you? Submit your lines from this winter on GoPro’s Website and post them on social media using the hashtag #GoProLineOfTheWinter.
