Mammoth Mtn.

Mammoth Mtn.

Number 03

Mammoth is often overlooked, despite one of the best terrain parks in the world, loads of first-rate terrain and a uniquely SoCal feel. Over the years, terrain park manager Oren Tanzer and his crew have kept the Unbound Terrain Park one of the most diverse and largest terrain parks on the planet. The mountain attracts top name pros for pre-season training, spring film shoots and everything in between — a testament to its quality.

Mammoth is far from being a one-trick pony. The mountain holds some gnarly terrain that begs to be shredded when it dumps, and Mammoth’s littering of high-speed quads and gondolas get you there in a fl ash. Mammoth is known for the occasional big wind event, but that often just translates to drier, fresher, wind-buffed snow days after a storm. Take advantage of runs like Grizzly and Shaft, perfect examples of the expert terrain that Mammoth offers. The season extends into June most years, so when the rest of the resorts close, Mammoth is still going strong.

When spring rolls around and the weather gets hotter and sunnier than normal, post up on the deck at the base of the mountain. You’d be hard pressed to find better après action. Grab a beer, get your shine on, and watch in awe as the terrain park action (and carnage) unfolds right before your eyes.
