You heard that right, folks. Loveland Ski Area started spinning its lifts today, marking it as the third resort to open in Colorado this season. With an 18 inch base depth—thanks to weeks of snowmaking, cold temperatures and a recent storm that dropped over a foot of snow on the resort—Loveland is kicking things off this winter with a full top-to-bottom run that offers nearly 1,000 vertical feet of skiing.
“Our snowmaking team has been working around the clock to get the mountain ready and all of their hard work is about to pay off,” said COO Rob Goodell in a recent press release. “Mother Nature chipped in with almost a foot of snow during this last storm cycle and that was the boost we needed. Winter is officially here and we can’t wait to celebrate the start of another season.”
