Just 10 days in to the month of October and Mother Nature has been so good to us here in Colorado–especially the southern part of the state. So much so, the Durango Herald reported that Wolf Creek Ski Area, located near Pagosa Springs, CO, is planning to open its mountain to the public this Saturday and Sunday–making it the first ski area to open in Colorado for the 2018-19 season.
After receiving 12 inches on Monday and another eight inches today, Wolf Creek will start running Nova, Treasure Stoke and Bonanza lifts for weekend-only operations starting this Saturday. Skiers will be able to ride Nova and Susan’s runs with $29 lift tickets for adults, seniors and kids while tickets to access Treasure and Bonanza will be $50 for adults, $33 for seniors and $27 for kids.
The Wolf Creek Lodge will be open with a limited lunch menu as well as the Pathfinder Bar. Adults and kids will also have access to the ski school, including the Wolf Pup Program, ski rental, Boarder Dome and Treasure Sports.
