Kaya Turski inks three-year deal with HEAD/Tyrolia

Coming off a season skiing without a ski sponsor, and after having spent much of the summer testing HEAD products in New Zealand, Canadian Kaya Turski has officially inked a three-year deal with HEAD/Tyrolia. The agreement locks Kaya into HEAD skis and boots, and Tyrolia bindings through 2015. Kaya, owner of seven X Games medals and arguably the best female slopestyle skier on the planet, is primed for another outstanding competition season.

“I’m really excited to be partnering up with HEAD for the upcoming seasons,” Kaya told us this morning. “They’ve been really supportive of me and my goals and I am really happy to be adding them to a family of sponsors that I feel will all work really well together to help me do the best that I can in the upcoming seasons. Not only is the product great but the crew that works at HEAD has been really open to new ideas and feel like we’re going to grow into something really strong.”

HEAD had its sights set on on Kaya for quite some time, according to HEAD’s freeski team manager, Tyson Bolduc. “If there was one athlete that we have had our eye on it was Kaya. She seemingly dominates every event she attends and makes skiing fun to watch,” Bolduc explained. HEAD joins a strong list of sponsors for Kaya, including Red Bull, Nike, Oakley, Swix and D-Structure.

With her heart set on competing at the Winter Olympic Games at Sochi in 2014, Kaya is a true force to be reckoned with in the upcoming seasons. Having finished atop the AFP slopestyle rankings for the fourth straight year in 2012, rest assured Kaya will be gunning for the five-peat.
