The Masters spirit was alive and well today on Blackcomb in Whistler, BC. Eight teams (Salomon, Dynastar, Rossignol, Armada, 4FRNT, Surface, Volkl and K2) battled it out head to head on the mini slopestyle run.
The course this year was the biggest in Masters history. It started with two rails, followed by another two rails (one with a gap off, one with a gap on), then into a couple hips, then an uncharacteristically big (65′ or so) jump, into a step-up, then finally a wall ride. After coming down from the wall ride, one more down rail finished off the run.
Upping the competition ante at the Anticomp, the teams dressed up in costumes like pirate suits, super heros and Star Wars characters. The scene looked like a block party with skiing as the central focus. Good to see everyone taking themselves so lightly. Great show.
