The LJ Show from Jon Olsson Video Blog on Vimeo.
Day 8 at the Jon Olsson Super Sessions started off so nice and sunny, only to have the dream snatched away cruelly by Mother Nature’s hands. As riders started sessioning the hip jump, the clouds rolled in and the wind picked up. But that didn’t stop Dumont and HÃ¥tveit from putting in some work and LJ Strenio from almost clearing the hip completely/exploding himself.
Simon and Andreas were floating huge 540s into the flat light, stomping each bigger than the last. TJ Schiller was getting in some quality 540s as well, varying up the grabs to let photographers take all his jumps in. Jon Olsson, in typical fashion, was boosting huge straight airs while Oscar Scherlin was boosting some formidably large straight airs himself.
Gus Kenworthy, Aleksander Aurdal and Henrik Harlaut were starting to get their 540s figured out, until the big bad clouds rolled in to shut us down. And then there was LJ Strenio who was starting hundreds of feet higher trying to air over the whole hip, but coming up slightly short, having to hip it instead, but coming away with some mad nice mute grab photos.
As the rain starts to come down now in Ã…re, we can only wait and see what the weather does as we’re pawns in its cruel game. Hopefully day 9 sees some fortunate weather to session another one of Jon’s super features. Remember, on Wednesday, the Swedish Open is in full effect and Thursday, the Jon Olsson Invitational Big Air comes to the Comviq Step Down. if you’re anywhere near Ã…re, check it out. Otherwise, you’ll have to keep visiting Freeskier.com for information.
