JOSS Day 6 – Step over kicker session!! from Jon Olsson Video Blog on Vimeo.
Day 6 here in Ã…re put an end to Mother Nature’s bad weather streak, allowing all the crews to head up to the top of the mountain and session Jon’s Step Over/Up jump. Built in a never-before-built spot, the massive jump showcases cinematic views and an equally scenic sunset. So this afternoon, the boys tram-ed up the hill and got it going. Halfway into the session the fog rolled in, and instead of calling it quits, the boys threw down on a mini jump until the fog got the heck out of there.
While not the most technical tricks went down, style was the overwhelming factor today. Floaty rodeos, tweaked out 900s, misty flips, and the such went down one after another. A few doubles were on the menu, with Russ Henshaw’s double 1080s, and Gus Kenworthy and Elias Ambuhl’s Kangaroo flips. Matt Walker and LJ Strenio spent a good portion of the afternoon spinning to the right, while Simon Dumont and Henrik Harlaut got blunted. The HÃ¥tveit double grabbed and the gracious host Jon Olsson seemed to levitate during his rodeos.
With the bad weather seemingly behind the event, tomorrow looks like a double header: daytime step up session to an evening step down session. Stay tuned to Freeskier.com for more information on what’s going down at the Jon Olsson Super Sessions from Ã…re, Sweden.
