After announcing its partnership with Valle Nevado in Chile last week, the Ikon Pass continues its expansion in the Southern Hemisphere with three New Zealand resort partnerships.
When the snow starts to melt in the Northern Hemisphere, Ikon Pass holders can venture down south to Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt in New Zealand for year-round stoke. Located in the epicenter of adventure, Coronet Peak and The Remarkables serve the skiers of Queenstown with over 700 acres of terrain while Mt Hutt–located 70 miles west of Christchurch on the South Island of New Zealand–has been named New Zealand’s best ski resort since 2015.
“The Ikon Pass provides incredible opportunity for year-round skiing and riding at the most iconic destinations on the planet. We’re stoked to bring Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt into the Ikon Pass community. It’s a vote of confidence in New Zealand’s commitment to deliver premium facilities and service, and provides a great opportunity for global skiers and riders to check a Southern Hemisphere winter visit off their bucket list,” said Paul Anderson, chief executive officer of NZSki, in a recent press release.
Ikon Pass holders can ski a combined seven days at the three New Zealand resorts with zero blackout dates for the Southern Hemisphere’s winter season starting in June 2019 while Ikon Base Pass holders get five days with zero blackout dates. Now with partnerships at Thredbo in Australia, Valle Nevado in Chile and Coronet Peak, The Remarkables and Mt Hutt in New Zealand, the ski season is literally endless.
