After two feet of natural snow and a drop in temperatures that allowed for consistent snowmaking last week, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland Ski area will officially open on Friday, October 19, and Saturday, October 20, respectively. Skiers can start ripping the High Noon trail at Arapahoe Basin via the Black Mountain Express Lift starting at 9 a.m. on Friday.

“With nearly two feet of natural snow combined with the low temperatures for snowmaking we’ve been able to create a quality base for Friday’s opening,” said Alan Henceroth, Arapahoe Basin chief operating officer, in a press release. “We’re excited to get the ski season started.”

Hot on The Legend’s heels, Loveland will start running it’s brand-new high-speed quad lift, Chet’s Dream, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.

Season passes, 4-pack and daily lift tickets to both ski areas are still available to purchase online. Current lift ticket window pricing at Arapahoe Basin is $85 for adults (ages 19-69), $70 for teens (ages 15-18) and $41 for kids ages six to 14 for a one day lift ticket until December 21. At Loveland, adults 15 and older can ski for $65 a day and $31 for kids 14 and younger. Children under the age of five ski for free at both areas, all season long.
