Announcing the seventh annual FAT Ski-a-Thon, Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Sugarbush Lincoln Peak

Truckee, CA-based High Fives Foundation is excited to announce its seventh annual FAT Ski-a-Thon, to be hosted at Sugarbush Resort on March 4, 2018. The event is open to both skiers and snowboarders and funds raised benefit mountain lovers who have suffered life altering injuries. This year, the High Fives Foundation has set its loftiest fundraising goal (for a single event) to date: a whopping $205,000. As of posting time, $77,280 have been raised. Today, you have the opportunity to 1) sign up for the event or 2) make a donation in order to help High Fives Foundation surpass its goal.

Are you keen to participate? Here’s how it works:

Participants sign up here, for free, and work to raise funds in advance of the event ($45 discounted lift tickets are available for all participants). Then, Ski-a-Thoners complete as many “fun runs” as possible at Lincoln Peak via the Valley House Lift. Each run is recorded via a punch card. Snacks, drinks and food will be provided to all participants. (And don’t forget about participant prizes—costumes, a winning attitude, top-notch fundraising and “most laps” are the sorts of things that might just earn you some amazing new gear.) All told, this annual event serves as a great way to have fun and enjoy the outdoors in the name of philanthropy.

Spreading big love at Sugarbush. Will you be there?

The High Fives Foundation provides grants to outdoor sports athletes who suffer from life-altering injuries such as spinal cord or brain injuries. The organization also teaches safety awareness and smart decision making at schools in Mad River Valley, VT, and across the country.

“Looking back on the last six years of this event, it is amazing to see it grow to this level,” says Roy Tuscany, executive director of High Fives Foundation. “This community is so powerful, so strong and so supportive. These funds will continue to support athletes in their recoveries from a life-altering injury. It is a true blessing to be able to call this place home for myself and the organization.”
