The 2015 Winter X Games are underway from Aspen, CO. And in traditional fashion, FREESKIER and its partners stepped-up to host the biggest rager of the week – the unofficial “Athlete Kick-off Party” at the Sky Hotel in downtown Aspen.

The event was a who’s who roster of X Games athletes, celebrities and industry VIPs. Pro skiers in attendance included Olympic medalists Joss Christensen and Nick Goepper, plus Alex Schlopy, Øystein Bråten, Tiril Sjåstad Christiansen, Nick Martini, Jon Brogan, Charlie Owens, Oscar Wester, Jesper Tjäder, Vincent Gagnier, PK Hunder, and on, and on…

Between the 39 Degrees Lounge, the outdoor pool & hot tub, the swanky lobby and the second story Aspen room that hosted a bar and a raging dance floor, things escalated as expected: cordial greetings and “Hey, how are yah’s” transitioned to “Let’s do shots,” which led to shirts coming off. DJ Chris Karns and DJ Flo kept the tunes comin’ all night long, while vodka drinks were gratis, courtesy of party sponsor Red Bull.

For those who didn’t have a chance to join us, don’t fret—there’s more partying to be had. FREESKIER FEST is a 6-stop tour, and this was only the second stop on the party. Next up, FREESKIER takes its shenanigans to Denver during the 2015 SIA Snow Show, and then on to a series of three more ski-town bashes in February and March.

For now, we wish to extend big thanks to Red Bull for its commitment to providing the utmost care (and fun) for the world’s top athletes, to the Sky Hotel for hosting this mötley crew, to all of our VIPs, the X competitors, and all the rest who joined in on the fun last night.

While many are awaking bleary eyed this morning, there’s no rest for the wicked amid X Games. And thanks to RESQWATER we’ll be on mountain instead of in bed. On the docket today: Men’s ski superpipe elimination, taking place at 5:00 p.m. MST. For a full listing of events and the television schedule, too, follow this link.

Huge thanks go out to our partners Swedish Match and RESQWATER, for your support of freeskiing and the 2015 FREEESKIER FEST Tour.

Onward and upward, friends!
