On the weekend of January 11 and 12, Tom Wallisch returned home to western Pennsylvania and hosted a raucous, throwback rail jam—the Steel City Showdown—at Seven Springs Mountain Resort. He invited over 20 of the worlds baddest rail skiers, including Alex Hall, Khai Krepela, Evan McEachran, Siver Voll, Taylor Lundquist, Joss Christensen, Devin Logan, Colby Stevenson, Alex Beaulieu-Marchand and LJ Strenio, who all competed for a $20,000 prize purse. In the end, Hall, Stevenson and up-and-comer Tucker Fitzsimmons took first, second and third under rainy East Coast skies—the way it should be. Nate Abbott was on-hand to document the rail jam and highlight a throwback event we hope spurs a revival in the future.
