Free Your Way

Rossignol first launched the BlackOps series in 2019-20 as a “skunkworks” project. The brand, at the time, had been relishing nearly seven years of great success with the incredibly popular 7 Series but when it came to providing proper planks for Rossignol’s hard-charging athletes—Chris Logan, Parker White and Tatum Monod, just to name a few—the brand admittedly fell short. After a few rounds of development and testing, Rossignol created exactly what its athletes wanted and needed to stomp, slash and play all over the mountain—the BlackOps 118 and 98.

While the 118 is geared toward the deepest days of the season, the 98 offers a width that can carry the majority of two-plankers through the resort on hard-pack days and it lands right at home in the park. But again, Rossignol athletes felt there was a large void between the two that needed to be filled. Enter the Sender Free 110.

The Sender Free 110 is essentially a lighter, slightly skinnier version of the BlackOps 118. Equipped with Rossignol’s proprietary air-tip technology, the reduced swing weight of this freeride weapon makes it a touch more maneuverable than its big brother and provides ample float for softer, deeper conditions. But don’t let the air tips fool you, the Sender Free 110 is ready to charge thanks to a layer of titanal underfoot and a progressive shape that lets you put the pedal to the metal—whether you’re straight lining under the lift or dropping into a steep, exposed line out of bounds.

A high-density visco material known as Damp Tech and a special carbon Diagofiber ensure this ski never gets pushed around while a near-symmetrical twin tip adds versatility. Whether it just snowed six inches or it’s been a week since the last reset, Rossignol intends for the Sender Free 110 to be a daily driver. Available in three lengths, 176, 184 and 191cm, the 110 was made for every style of sender and an eco-conscious approach to the development—a PEFC certified poplar wood core and made with 100 percent certified renewable energy—you’ll not only look good rocking the Sender Free 110, you can feel great about it too.
